Austin Kossack comes into tonight’s game on a long scoring streak and looks to keep the streak alive. With both teams need a win this will make the game interesting that’s for sure. The Railer Express have 8 guys out of the lineup while the Riels have their full lineup tonight. The first period has the Riels all over the Railer Express. At the end of the first period the Railer Express lead 1-0 and went 0-1 on the power play with the Riels going 0-2 on the power play.
The second period started off a little slow with little action or physical play. The tempo of the game did pick up with 3 on two break from Jordan Weir. The Riels managed to regain their pressure for the last half of the second period, gaining more shots from the slot and the point. The Express forward Kelby Picard got denied by Riels goaltender Ried Pennington. The physical play has picked up within the last 10 minutes of the period and at the end of the period the score is 2-0 Express.
The shots on goal at the end of the second period the shots on goal are 22-14 in favor of the Riels. Both teams start the third playing a conservative game. The Riels jump right back in the game with two early third period goals from Cardinal and Bazinet, to tie the game up at two. At the end of three periods of play the score remains tied at two and we will now see overtime. At the end of the overtime period the score is still tied the game will now go into a shootout.
