Kiana Lee scored her first goal of the season with 2:50 left in regulation as the Manitoba Blizzard edged the Manitoba Gray Owls 4-3 on Saturday night.
A hat-trick from Mackenzie Kowalczuk to go along with Lee’s winner capped off the scoring for the Blizzard.
The Gray Owls got third period goals from Serena Daniels, Keyanna Thompson and a power-play goal from Emma Leipsic before allowing the game winning goal late in regulation.
Kelsey Bowerman picked up the win stopping 22 shots while McKenna Wild picked up the hard luck loss stopping 31 shots.
With the win the Blizzard improve to 1-0-0 while the Gray Owls fall to 0-1-0.
