Mackenzie Henley had two goals and Mallory Harvey added four more to lead the Polar Ice to a 7-4 win over the Silvertips in MWJHL action Sunday.
The two combined for six of the seven goals which helped their team jump out to a 6-2 third period lead. Lindsay Michiels would score two late powerplay goals to cut the lead to 6-4. Some late saves by Stephanie Caryk kept the Silvertips from coming any closer in the contest, Harvey would score her 4th of the night into an empty net at 19:22 to seal the victory and make the final score 7-4.
Stephanie Caryk picked up her second win of the season stopping 25 of 29 in the victory while Lorice Pilling took the hard luck loss stopping 25 in her first MWJHL appearance.
With the win the Polar Ice improved to 3-0-0 while the Silvertips fell to 1-1-0 on the season.
